Have you ever struggled to get an answer from your CPA in a timely manner? Or, have you been surprised by a bill for a quick phone call? Or maybe you just can’t seem to ever get an answer without a dozen phone calls?
Those are just some of the problems that many people experience, especially this time of year, with their CPAs. Then you add in a brand new 1000+ page Economic Stimulus Bill with tax provisions affecting 2008 tax returns, right in the middle of tax season, well, I can tell you there are a lot of CPAs pulling out their hair right now.
The first step is to determine exactly what you want from your CPA. If you don’t know exactly what your ideal outcome is, you’re unlikely to get it. In fact, it’s impossible to get it. That’s because no one knows what “it” is. So, what do you want from your CPA?
Some people say that they want to have a CPA that they can stop in and visit anytime they want. Or they want to be able to call at a moment’s notice. Others want a tax advisor who saves them taxes and keeps them out of trouble. And others want to make sure their assets are protected as they grow their wealth.
The first step is decide what you want. And, you need to be able to clearly describe what you want. Then, see what is available.
There has been a shortage of CPAs for years now, so you are in a bit of a seller’s market. That means chances are you’re going to have to compromise somewhat, or pay more if you want it all.
At DK Tax Services, we operate with two main goals:
(1) You pay the least amount of tax legally possible. We file your returns using every legal strategy we know to put you under the IRS radar and avoid red flags. And we make sure the plans are designed to give you good asset protection.
(2) We want to educate you with the latest in tax strategies, financial and wealth building topics.
And that means we do some things differently. For example, we operate almost exclusively via email communication. Trading phone calls all day just burns up your time and yours. By working this way, we can ensure that all of the staff at DK Tax Services has time to keep up to date on the latest tax news. We need to work on our education so we can make sure you’re getting the best plans.
Email works much more efficiently for communication plus we both get a written record as we go. There are a few clients that I work with personally and that program includes unlimited phone calls with me as well, but it is much more expensive and the number of people in the program is limited.
That’s just one of the differences in the way we work. But the real secret isn’t in how we work it’s the RESULTS we get.
Here are just a few of the recent stories:
- Couple saved a little over $20,000 per year in taxes simply by using the structures they already had.
- IT professional turned active income into passive income for huge future tax savings. He’s saving $8,000 right now, but as the program starts working, it’ll be more and more in savings.
If you want different results, you have to do something differently. And sometimes that means working in a brand new way to get the advantage that is so needed in today’s world.
