A recent article of Inc magazine listed the top 100 companies. A significant number of them began in the first few months after 9/11. In the chaos that followed 9/11, heroes were needed. In this case, though, the heroes were business heroes. People who saw that it wasn’t the end of civilization, who knew that the sun would come up tomorrow and that in the economic turmoil, there was real opportunity.
We’re in something now. It’s not technically even a recession yet. I hate to use the alarmist term of “crisis” so for now we’ll just call it economic uncertainty. There is change coming, without a doubt. There are bills passing right and left, as all attention is shifted to the massive bail-out proposal. We’ll be paying for these past few weeks for decades to come, most likely.
Meanwhile, in that change, and in that chaos, there is huge opportunity. if you have a business your competition is becoming less. Your job is NEVER QUIT. Find a way to get through it and hang on. Even better, look for the new opportunities (and there are a bunch of them!) that will be open in the next few months and should last for 2 – 5 years.
I’ll be posting the 5+ Business Opportunities for the Current Economic Climate in the next few weeks to the First Class Lounge. It’s never been a better time to have a business! If I didn’t already have one, I’d start one today.
